The Fast Went Fast

Do you feel stuck, plateaued in your health care or personal improvement plan?

I have been a Registered Nurse for 42 years. I am a cancer treatment (surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation) survivor which left me with neuropathy in my hands and feet. Then to top that, I have been newly diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. Getting little help from the medical community, I began researching for some solutions to reduce, reverse or irradicate the symptoms. What I understand is that this helps stimulate production of human growth hormone and stem cells within all tissues of the body. It was amazingly easy to do. At times I even considered keeping it going for 14 days. But as the end approached, I was looking forward to beginning to eat again. The only thing I consumed was mineral water, black coffee, and my morning supplement regimen. When I felt a little hungry, I drank more water. Pretty much everything described in the article happened to me. I did not test for ketones, but made sure to drink lots of water, which forces your body to use stored fat for energy. And it did. I lost 3 inches off my waistline and 6 lbs. So, I know I lost 6 lbs of fat. My tongue got yellow flecks on it beginning on day 3. This is a normal detoxification response of the fast. Anything to get rid of toxins is a good thing, right?

I had no problem adjusting to eating again. The article suggests starting with broth for a day or so, but I went right for the ribeye. Now I am eating a ketogenic diet, suggested for people with Parkinsons. A good source about this diet is Dr. Ken Berry. You can find him on YouTube. I plan to practice this with intermittent fasting and repeat the 5-day fast about every 4-5 weeks. I feel SO MUCH better - more like my old self than ever before.
